This crossing has two Griswold gated signals with a total of 5 pairs of 8" Griswold lights. Each signal has a RACO mechanical bell on it.

The eastbound signal also has a RACO center plate between the lights as seen in picture 2.

The FRA gives an inflated daily train count of 10 for this crossing. It can be anywhere from 0 to 4, depending on local freight and rock train movements. A major ballast quarry is located near this crossing, and WSOR runs rock trains for UP to and from there.

Facing south. Four UP locomotives are standing by waiting.

A quarry access road intersects Broadway St. right next to the crossing. A long sidelight arm with an extra pair of Griswold lights warns traffic on that road.

In picture 9, another south track view, the locomotive's headlight has been turned on. This is the power for one of the aforementioned rock trains, preparing to go through the crossing and pick up the loaded train from the quarry just to the north.

Pictures 10 and 11 show the relay case, complete with UP and WSOR labels.

The signals activate in picture 12!

The gates still going down.
The UP locomotives cross to get their train.

We later caught this train at the Vine St. wigwags in Baraboo, and again in Lodi and Madison.
