This crossing has four gateless signals with 12" x 20" incandescent lights facing the front only. Each median signal has a rare WCH or WRRS motor-driven mechanical bell!

This is the only signalized crossing on the East Troy Electric Railroad, a museum which operates excursions using old interurban equipment from the Milwaukee and Chicago areas. Their 7-mile line is the last operating remnant of the once vast Milwaukee interurban railroad system. The 0 daily train count from the FRA applies only on days when the museum is closed. The crossing gets activated within the range of 10-20 times on days when the museum is operating, which includes most of the summer as well as certain weekends in the spring and fall.

This US&S wayside signal lights up in both directions when the crossing is activated, to let the crews know it's OK to proceed across this busy state highway. Due to the small size and light weight of the interurban cars relative to an ordinary train, an accident could be quite dangerous to the crew and passengers. The base of the signal may also serve as the relay case for the crossing.
