An overview of the crossing facing southwest. |
The mast lights on the SWbound cantilever.

Looking northeast as the parade goes through the crossing.

Still looking northeast. Yes, that is a camel crossing the tracks. |
This is a 12" x 24" gated cantilever crossing on the Canadian Pacific main line. The front facing cantilever mast lights and the cantilevered lights are Modern Industries lights with clear L.E.D.s in them. The rear lights are attached to the gates (Sorry, Mike!) and are Safetran lights with Dialight ball L.E.D.s. There is one mechanical bell on the cantilever in pictures 1, 3 and 4, and I can't tell whether it's a RACO or Griswold bell but it's one of those two. The bell rings from activation until just before the gates start going up.
Most of these pictures were taken during the community's Fourth of July parade, which is why there are so many people around. It also made for some interesting road traffic through the crossing as seen in pictures 3 and 4!
Facing east. |
The relay case.

Trackside views of an eastbound CP freight going through the crossing just before the parade started. |
|
Now the crossing is again in action this time for a westbound, forcing a halt to the parade in progress. |

The train crosses. My camera had a bit of trouble with the clear L.E.D. lights at times, as seen in picture 14. |
