Facing north.

The eastbound signal has 8" incandescent WCH lights attached to an L&W bracket, and a pair of 12" x 24" incandescent Safetran sidelights. The westbound signal has 8" WRRS lights on a Modern Industries bracket, and a Safetran mechanical bell. Both crossbucks are double sided.

You can see in pictures 4 and 5 that the second track is defunct. It's just rails in the road.

Here's one of the locomotives on the train.

The FRA says this crossing gets 8 daily trains, which is somewhat generous. Actually, there's only one train that switches this line six evenings a week, running from Portage to Madison and back.

However, the train switches back and forth over this crossing several times, which may have confused the FRA count.

The train had to drop off some tank cars at a siding nearby, and kept the crossing activated for about 15 minutes straight.

As seen in picture 9, the conductor stood in the street directing traffic through the activated signals while the locomotives switched the cars.

In picture 11 the reassembled train starts to move out, and he just climbed right on as it rolled by.

This train included numerous flat cars loaded with pipe, as shown in picture 12.
