These photos are from 2001. Back then, this crossing needed a little work. The crossbuck had some missing letters, so you couldn't read it very clearly. Also the stripes on the lower half of the gate had completely faded away from too much sun exposure. |

Since then, this crossing has had some significant upgrades. The road has changed from 2 lanes (asphalt) to 4 lanes (concrete with a median). There are now 3 gated signals, including one median signal. The side lights have been moved to the opposite side of the tracks, as well as a second additional pair installed. The new crossing equipment features WCH 2nd-generation LED lights, WCH bells, and a mixture of WCH and Safetran gate motors.
Facing north. Notice that the 2 outer lane signals have mechanical bells, while the median signal has an e-bell. |
A Safetran signal base. |
The back side of the northbound signal, which has sidelights to give warning to traffic turning off of Scyene Rd. |

Facing south. This is the side that has a median signal.

Note: This crossing is right on the border between Mesquite and Sunnyvale. In fact, the track itself is the dividing line between the two cities.
