These railcars is the reason why the crossing is out of service. They were put there very close to January 1, 2008. The crossing has been dormant since around 2004 (an estimate).

A look at the relay case with DOT information.
Facing West.

A culvert with the number "1953" on it.

The culvurt is dated 1953 (see picture 6), this is when this realignment of the track was built: Lewisville Lake was being built and would flood the old alignment, which was on the east side of what then was US 77, now just Mill St.

This crossing was just had crossbucks until the mid-2000s.

Pictures 1-6 were taken on December 20, 2008.

DCTA (Denton County Transportation Authority) has made significant progress in the reconstruction of this line for commuter rail use.

The eastbound signal in picture 10 is down due to a vehicle striking it.

Compare picture 8 with picture 2. They both face North. Picture 9 faces South.

Here's the crossing, still bagged on January 5, 2011. It's hard to tell, but it looks like the light frames will change from 12"x20" to 12"x24". Everything else seems to be the same, except for the crossing being a quiet zone now.

Approaching the crossing Eastbound on an unusual sign placement.

Facing SouthEast. Getting closer to the crossing, we find the other indication that this is a quiet zone. Overview facing East.

Facing North. Overview facign West. The Westbound signal was mostly untouched, and retains its 12"x20" frames. The Eastbound signal seems to be a bit newer, and has 12"x24" frames.

The crossing is mostly reopened. DCTA is doing some testing on the line, even though they won't officially open until June 2011. As for DGNO, who knows?

All signal light frames contain Harmon/GE fading LEDs.

Pictures 14-21 were taken on April 10, 2011.
