Patrick has sent me another video with lots more train signal videos. Some of these crossings are not yet seen on the website, and will be noted as a purple background.
Disc #1
Avenue P - This video was supposed to be on Volume 1, but didn't make it. This is the same train that crossed 8th St. East back in Volume 1. |
Sierra Highway #2 (1) - Patrick walking towards the xing from the side Rd. w/ a Metrolink stopping at the station then proceeding. |
Sierra Highway #2 (2) - A view of the Metrolink coming from a distance then stopping at the station and proceeding. There's a video problem throughout the whole video, but isn't that bad to take this video out of the DVD. |
Sierra Highway #2 (3) - A view from the UP side of the same procedure. The lights turn on and a car stops and the person behind him almost rear ends him. (UP’s mechanical bell is not working well at all in any of the 3 videos. |
Avenue S (1) - A North Bound Metrolink passes and Patrick is on the West side of the xing. |
Avenue S (2) - A South Bound Metrolink headed for LA passes and is seen from the opposite side. |
Barrel Springs Rd. (1) - A NB Metrolink passes and is seen from the east side of the crossing (The camera records really bright for some reason.) |
Barrel Springs Rd. (2) - A 2-car NB Metrolink passes seen from the East Side of xing. |
Barrel Springs Rd. (3) - A NB Metrolink passes and is seen from the West Side of xing. |
Barrel Springs Rd. (4) - Another NB train comes along, and the signals start up too early. |
Sierra Highway #1 (1) - A SB Metrolink w/ a high pitch horn blares through seen from the South Side. |
Sierra Highway #1 (2) - A NB Metrolink goes past and is seen from the North Side. |
Sierra Highway #1 (3) - A NB Metrolink from the South Side of the xing. |
Home Video #1 - A NB Metrolink sets the sigs off. This is from Patrick's house and it really gives an example of how the events work out down there. |
Aliso Canyon Rd. - An EB Freight headed for the ports seen from the West Side of the xing. |
Crown Valley Rd. - Patrick catches the annual FD toydrive Metrolink headed South from the north side of the xing. The train is very colorful, and very bright. |
| Highway 275 (1) - East Side of xing with the Sacramento Southern Railroad Museum (SSRRM) Steam Train going south. |
Highway 275 (2) - West side of xing, same train again going south again. This crossing has SAFETRAN Hybrid bells. |
Broadway - West side of xing, same train same run going north now stops on xing to talk to crew. Features WABCO triangle gates in action. |
SSRRM Signal Garden - Not much here, a first Gen Griswold signal in action w/ a stuck. stop sign and a Wig-Wag. Both are on a timer. |
Monte Vista Rd. - A quick SB freight passes through Turlock Ca seen from the west side. |
Second St. - A 13-car local rushes North through Selma, CA seen from the west side. |
California Ave. - Back to Beaumont, CA again. This time Patrick gets 2 trains at once! Unfortuantely he runs out of tape before the second train can finish crossing. The North signal now has a WCH e-bell. |
Sam Timoteo 1 - An EB freight breaks the night’s silence seen from the south side and featuring the new E bell on the North signal. |
Private Crossing - An EB with a really high pitched horn breaks the silent night from the south side. |
Disc #2
San Timoteo #2 - Patrick catches the rear end of a WB freight from the south side. |
Hunts- A UP train heading West stops just close enough to trigger the signals for a few seconds. They time out shortly though. |
University Parkway (1) - A NB Freight seen from the North side. In volume 1, the mast flasher across the street had a mechanical bell. Now it's a General Signals type 2 electronic bell. This is a long video. |
University Parkway (2) - A NB Freight seen from the North side at night. Another long video. |
University Parkway (3) - A SB Freight crosses and is seen from the South side at night. You can really hear the General Signals type 2 electronic bell here. |
Glen Helen (1) - Patrick gets the first train within 2 minutes of being @ the xing going North up the Cajon seen from the North side. This is in San Bernardino. This is a double crossing. |
Glen Helen (2) - Patrick doesn't have enough time to get to the UP crossing when the signals start up again for a second train heading South. After the second train finishes, a third one heading North is seconds behind it! |
Glen Helen (3) - The Last train comes within a minute of the 3rd train crossing. This is a NB train too. |
Barrel Springs Rd. (5) - As Patrick was coming home on February 24, 2006, he noticed the signals malfunctioning. Every minute or so, the signals would stay active for 22.5 seconds each time. A Metrolink eventually comes by. The signals do work correctly for it, but still continue the 22.5 second malfunctions after it leaves. This video is over 22 minutes long! |
Home Video #2 - Back at Patrick's house, he could still see the Barrel Springs crossing malfunctioning. You can barely see it in the clip. |
REVIEWS
Mike: My favorites on this video are the Highway 275 crossing. Many of the videos are of Metrolink trains, which do get a little tiresome at times. 7 out of 10 for this one.
