During the last few months of 2005, Patrick (rrxingrick@aol.com) sent me a few videos of trains he's collected. Some of these crossings are not yet seen on the website, and will be noted as a purple background.

Disc #1

Avenue G - A side view of the crossing, and 2 very fast moving (80 MPH) Union Pacific Locomotives. Recorded 4/05.

Sierra Highway #2 (1) - A video from inside a car of a Metrolink train crossing.

Sierra Highway #2 (2) - A night time video of the crossing. A quick UP train goes by.
Sierra Highway #2 (3) - The closest signals now have L.E.D. lights. Another UP goes by.
Palmdale 1- Taken in 2003. A Metrolink train speeds by this crossing.
Palmdale 2- Taken in 2005. The bells and lights changed. An UP crosses this time.
Avenue R - There's a malfunction here. See if you can spot it. It took me a while to find it myself. Recorded in 2003.
Barrel Springs - A side view of the crossing. A Metrolink goes by this time.
Sierra Highway #1 (1) - A pretty long train goes by here. This was taken in 2005. At the end of the video, some kid asks "Why'd you record that?" The idiot was ignored.
Sierra Highway #1 (2) - I didn't know this when I captured this, but this is the same video as Sierra Highway #1 (1), except with the idiot edited out of the end of the video. I thought the locomotive sounded similar in both clips!
Aliso Canyon 1 - Recorded in 2003. The sound is poor, due to the video being shot in a car. A Metrolink goes by.
Aliso Canyon 2 - LOW BRIDGE!!!
Crown Valley Rd. - Another Metrolink goes by this crossing.
8th St. 1 - One of my favorite videos. A slow moving UP goes by this 8" spur crossing with teardrop bells.
8th St. 2 - One of my favorite videos. The UP leaves, and goes by the crossing again.
Doran - A video of 12"x24" L.E.D. signals as captured inside a car waiting for a traffic light to change to green.
Broadway 1 - Just 3 seconds after the gate lowers, the gates rise due to a malfunction. Someone nearby shouts. "Short train?" Recorded June 2005.
Broadway 2 - Not long afterwards, the signals start again for a real Metrolink train.
Broadway 3 - From here on out, the rest of the Broadway videos are from a side view next to the signals. Another Metrolink passes by.
Broadway 4 - A different colored Metrolink train passes by.
Broadway 5 - Another short Metrolink passes.

Broadway 6 - Amtrak followed by Metrolink. Someone honks their horn at the very end of the video.

Broadway 7 - Another different colored Metrolink goes by.

Broadway 8 - Gates go down, gates go up, gates go down for 2 Metrolink trains that almost intersect each other.

Broadway 9 - Metrolink followed by UP.
10th St. E - A UP stops by a spur crossing, featuring a 8" teardrop signal, and a 12"x20" Safetran signal. Both are gateless.
Figueroa 1 - The following five videos are of the Gold Line Metro trains in Pasadena, CA. The signals go down (all bells are GS type 2). Two trains pass by after a slight delay.
Figueroa 2 - Two videos of the train passing by.
N Ave. 1 - Traffic lights along with a flashing "TRAIN" help prevent accidents at this crossing. This is a night time video.
N Ave. 2 - Another view of the flashing "TRAIN" light at night.
W. California Blvd. - Two Gold Line trains intersect at the same time.
Hunts - Recorded March 7, 2005. A long UP heads Eastbound.

San Timoteo Canyon #1 (1) -A very wide view of the crossing, with only 2 UP locomotives crossing.
Recorded June 2004.

San Timoteo Canyon #1 (2) -A night time shot of two trains crossing. The combined trains are almost 6 minutes long. Recorded March 7, 2005.
Live Oak Canyon -Recorded June 2004. An ordinary train crosses here.
San Timoteo Canyon #2 -The train from the Hunts crossing crosses here. This was back when the lights were 8".
California 1 - A UP train goes by.
California 2 - Another one goes by.
California 3 - A different view from the other side of the tracks. These first 3 videos were recorded August, 2004.
California 4 - A sunset video of the train that crossed San Timoteo Canyon 2. Recorded March 7, 2005.
California 5 - Another video on March 7, 2005 at night.

California 6 - Another night time video.

California 7 - Another night time video.

California 8 - The final night time video from the other side of the tracks. These last 3 were recorded June, 2005.

Hargrave 1 - The same train from the Live Oak Canyon train is a bit late. We only get to see the last half of the train cross.

Hargrave 2 - A long train comes by and blocks traffic for 4 minutes.

Hargrave 3 - Another train comes by, and blocks traffic for 2 1/2 minutes.
All Hargrave videos were recorded June, 2004.

Tampa - Recorded in 2003. A short UP goes by blocking traffic for 2 minutes.

Disc #2

University Parkway- For some reason, the road is under construction. The searchlights in the beginning of the video (recorded August 2004) are long gone Today. The lights don't flash accordingly.

Palm 1- An 8" crossing with very weak bells. You can barely see a new gate mechanism on the other side of the tracks. The near end of the train is missing due to a camcorder problem. Recorded August 2004.

Palm 2- The same crossing, except there's a lot of progress. The other side of the crossing now has lights and a crossbuck. What's not seen though is a new cantilever that will replace the front signal. I've been told that these signals are about to be replaced as of Today. Construction is almost finished. Recorded January 2005.

6th St. 1- A BNSF goes by the crossing. The video is slightly poor here. Recorded in 2002.

6th St. 2- A BNSF goes by the crossing. The lights are 12"x20" with GS type 1 electronic bells.

6th St. 3- A UP goes by the crossing. A slight problem during the middle of the video has a slight edit to it.

6th St. 4- A BNSF goes by the crossing.

6th St. 5- A side view of a UP going by.

6th St. 6- A side view of a BNSF going by.

A St. - A night time video of 2 cantilevers with 2 median signals with lights that don't flash at the same time. Amtrak goes by at around 80 MPH here.

Signals - An interesting video of Patrick's signal collection. You'll get to see his 8" lights in action, hear his RACO and WCH type 2 electronic bell in action for long periods of time. You'll even get to see inside the RACO bell and see it work! This video is almost 8 minutes long!

There's a slight video problem when the WCH bell is ringing at normal speed. The sound is unaffected though.

REVIEWS

Mike: Fairly good for a first set of DVDs. Patrick hadn't adapted my style when these videos were taken. A lot of crossings that aren't yet on the website are featured here. 8 out of 10 for this one.
