I got many more videos in the year 2003, I went
out a lot more than I should have.
VIDEOS IN PURPLE ARE SOME THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN SEEN ON THE WEBSITE BEFORE.
Disc #1
Beaver St. - A slow moving train along with some worker vehicles make this video a little interesting to watch. |
Cosnino Rd. #1 - A malfunction sets off the signals for a few seconds before they quit. |
Cosnino Rd. #2 - Just a few seconds after the signals quit, a long train crosses. |
Cosnino Rd. #3 - A slow train moving east meets with an even slower train moving west. These 2 trains make this video very long. |
Cosnino Rd. #4 - Another train barrels along. This one is pretty standard in terms of speed and length. |
Fanning Dr. - The first look at this crossing with an L.E.D. upgrade that was definately needed. |
Garland Prairie Rd. #1 - A standard BNSF crossing, with unusual looking signals. This crossing got an upgrade with different sounding electronic bells and L.E.D. lights. Note the temperature was 20 degrees when I shot this, so that's why at times the camera shakes a little. |
Garland Prairie Rd. #2 - A video from the other side of the tracks. |
Grand Canyon #1 - I got another view of the Grand Canyon train going by. |
Grand Canyon #2 - At the same crossing, shortly after filming Grand Canyon #1, Thomas the tank engine crosses. |
Grand Canyon #3 - Thomas Part Deux. |
Kirkland - On my way to California on Feb. 24, I found this older BN locomotive leading at Kirkland. This older BN loco has a high whistle pitch to it. |
Disc #2
Olive-75th Ave. - A Peoria, AZ crossing. The train was traveling too fast, and the traffic lights weren't cooperating, so I had to settle for a car shot. Not the best audio, but it's better than nothing. |
Park Rd. #1 - The signals started without me again, a BNSF train approaches from the west and crosses. |
Park Rd. #2 - I don't know why, but the signal on the other side of the street has been replaced. It might have been from a accident or something. A BNSF train is waiting on the west side of the crossing and had to wait for a red light, then started up very slowly across Park Rd. |
San Francisco St. - One of the few videos in Flagstaff where there weren't that many trains around. Listen for another rude comment by some unruly teenagers in the clip. |
Sherwood Forest Rd. #1 - An older crossing was slowly getting a face lift here. Mecanical bells sound as a fast BNSF train heads westward. The lights on the gates are L.E.D. Video was taken from a tripod. |
Sherwood Forest Rd. #2 - A video from the other side of the crossing. When the train finally blows it's whistle, you can hear it echo. This video was also taken from a tripod. The reason why the left light on the right signal looks brighter than the others is because it's a safetran light, the others are Modern Industry lights which are not very bright. |
Sherwood Forest Rd. #3 - I started this up when I heard faint rumbilng nearby. Otherwise, a standard video. |
Skull Valley - A nice peaceful feeling is interrupted by the squeaky BN train again. This was captured along the way to California on 2/24/2003. |
Steves Blvd. #1 - I had to run back here very fast, as you hear me pant throughout most of the beginning of this video. A short train goes very slow through here making yet another long video. Note the left light on the right signal on the mast is burned out. Also the traffic lights don't flash red and yellow like they used to in the past. |
Steves Blvd. #2 - Another train going from West to East barrels pretty fast through the crossing. |
Vulture Mine Rd. - The last video shot in 2003. After another rude comment not caught on tape, a long BNSF travels East. Note that I get a little help from traffic during the beginning. |
REVIEWS
gtw4070@gmail.com: Arizona Signals 2003 is an excitng DVD. Lots-o-trains and and signals. Very Fun! My favorite video is the Skull Valley video. One reason why is because of that Spooky whistle. I wouldn't call it "squeaky". Burlington Northern used that whistle on some of their locomotives.
Senko LKE: These are very interesating DVDs, because of the good amount of different places and scenarios. Both desertic and with lots of green, which sort of compliment each other. There's also a nice amount of different kind of
signals (L.E.D. and incandescent, and GS e-bells type 1 and 2, plus mechanical bells). Very good DVDs to watch over and over! My favorite: Sherwood Forest Rd. #2, because of (obviously) the mechanical bells, and because of the scenario and the inversed "2 tracks" sign. Also, the Modern Industries lights are very nice too, despite they're not very bright.
