Plans are on hold until I can get some space for the layout, which may be until 2006 or 2007.

Future plans include either an 4'x16' layout, or an 8'x8' (or possibly larger) with lots of crossings, kept up with my FRA-like reports on each crossing, whether they are public or private at-grade, or underpass/overpass.

I had some signals that were made in the early 1990's, and in 2002.

In 1991, my grandfather built this signal for me. The mast was from an old tether ball post that I had. ( I wasn't good at the sport, so I bought one to spruce up on the game, but it didn't help, so it was put to better use.) The crossbuck and the gate was made out of wood. The lights were small Christmas lights. The whole signal weighed about 40 pounds. The gate had about 5 lights on it instead of the usual 3. The front lights were from an actual gate light I found broken off it's gate at Manville Rd in California. I'm not sure where the motor came from though. The lights did flash from the help of a flasher bulb, but they didn't blink back and forth. The signal stayed up until 1993, when I moved. To this date, I still have the gate light along with the black discs.

These little things are HO signals that I've created. The signal in picture 4 was assembled on May 11, 2002, and the signal in picture 5 was built on May 13, 2002. They do flash with the help of an electronic flasher. If the thickness of the mast looks rather thick than usual, you're right. Most signals have 1/8" thickness masts, whereas mine is 3/16". I tried to make 4 incandescent lights run on one mast (2 in front, 2 in back) but I couldn't fit 4 sets of wires through the pipe. Instead I had to go with 2 for the time being.

Eventually, I want to make 4 light mast, and 6-8 light cantilever signals, but I need to figure out how to make 4-8 lights fit in the mast first. I have used L.E.D's but they are too hard to wire and keep together. I have wondered about making these signals and selling them through Walthers or such, but the answer so far is no, as they are not professional. Out of a scale of 1-100, I give signal #1 a 85, and signal #2 a 75.

Well, I finally got one. On September 25, 2004 while up in Michigan, my parents went out and found this crossbuck at a swap meet for just $25! The thing I don't understand is how it was setup. Normally the screws are on the top and bottom of crossbuck. Not on the sides? Check the website pictures to see for yourself.
