in the Simpsons, Rev. Lovejoy has a model train setup and Ned Flanders calls him when he is running them and during the call they crash. Later in the episode it shows some workers bringing in a table with tracks and other landscape, when Homer busts through it in his car and it breaks. Rev. Lovejoy then turns to the sky and says "why does everybody hate my trains?"

At the end of The Polar Express (Great movie By The Way), a O-27 scale model train is going around the christmas tree.

In Tom & Jerry, the episode about a canary,in the end,Tom ties Jerry to the model train track and attempts to run him over with the train, but the canary drops a bowling ball on the track and puts a hole on the floor and the train goes into the hole. Also that scene is in the episode Life with Tom.

Several episodes of the 60's show "The Addams Family" feature Gomez Adams deliberately wrecking model trains on his home layout. Pretty decent layout too.

2 model trains that I can remember...

  • The trolley in Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.
  • And in the 80's show Silver Spoons. There was a model train that could be ridden on and I believe there was a crossing signal as well. Can't remember whether the signal operated or not.

I remember the signal from Silver Spoons. I don't recall ever seeing it operate though.

The show with the live steam model?I remember a sitcom with a track in the house and only one episode I've seen with the train.
