Overview of the crossing. |
An emergency sign provided by NS on the gate mechanism. |
This is the other "one-way" street that State Route 72 travels on, parallel to 9th St. As you can see, this crossing has a bit more modern stuff on it than 9th St. has. There is one GS electronic bell on the gate mechanism seen in picture 1. The cantilever appears to be from Safetran. The 12"x24" incandescent lights are unknown, but are likely from Safetran.

This is a "NO LEFT TURN" signal, including an 8" light with a yellow lens. The gate mechanism attached to it blocks the left lane of 10th St. |
Here's another one of those flashing light signals, possibly alerting trains that the signals are active. |
The relay case. |
|
A very faded street sign near the crossing. |

Notes: In picture 5, which warns drivers coming out of a private business, the signal is very unlikely to be a "NO LEFT TURN SIGNAL". because if traffic did make a left turn, they would be going the wrong way on the one-way road, so that's why I'm thinking that signal is just for the trains only.
As picture 12 shows, this crossing, along with 9th Street, are scheduled to become underpasses in 2011, and that is presenting a few problems.
According to a news article I received, also by "Babone"...
"A cryptic problem has thrown a roadblock in front of the construction for the Norfolk Southern Railroad overpasses in Lebanon. A team of archaeologists working for PennDOT has found evidence of at least 25, and as many as 34, graves on North 10th Street behind homes that are slated to be demolished to make room for one of two spans across the railroad tracks. The other would cross on North Ninth Street and also involve the demolition of dozens of buildings on the block."
