A weird crossing. Two very old 8" triangle signals with two mechanical bells.

Picture 3 faces South, Picture 4 faces North.

In early August, 2006 the mechanical bell on the signal on picture 1 was changed to a WCH type 2 electronic bell for no real reason. The bell was not dead.

On September 6, 2006 at around 7:15 AM PST, Andrew came out here to see the damage that had been done the day before. As you can see in pictures 5 and 6, the signal is beyond repair. Also the base that the signal was standing on was damaged, and will require a new one when a new (likely 12"x24") signal goes up.

The WCH electronic bell is missing. The wires connecting to the top of the signal have been cut.

The gate was removed late September 5 after the accident. The triangle motor is all that's left of the gate.
There's nothing left on this side.
The other signal is still standing, although it's the only signal at the crossing now.

On September 19, 2006 the crossing was seen in action. We get a glimpse of the new signal that replaced the damaged one back on September 6.

The new signal has 12"x20" L.E.D. lights, WCH L.E.D. gate lights and a WCH type 2 electronic bell.

Picture 12: Some people will never learn. The truck went under the gates as they were lowering.

The train comes.

Still crossing...

The last car crosses.
The gate rise. You can see that there's no lights lit on the 12"x20" lights. The lights do NOT turn off when the gates rise. The picture was caught between L.E.D. flashes.
