NOTE: THE DOT NUMBER IS NOT IN THE FRA DATABASE SINCE THIS CROSSING IS TOO NEW.

Facing North. There used to be a SP train station here in the 1950s when SP used to have passenger train service.

Facing South. The traffic lights don't look very bright, but it's just an illusion that the camera gives. The red lights are L.E.D.

These 3 pictures were taken in late October, 2006.

Compare with picture 1...

You can see some cantilevers pieced together in the background.
Gate motors with REAR 12"x24" ball L.E.D. lights on them!

This setup will support 1 cantilever and 2 gated mast signals (one of them as a median signal), and a total of 3 GS electronic bells. All lights will be 12"x24" unfortunately...

All pieces including the ball L.E.D. lights appear to come from Safetran at this point.

7

8

This is quite unusual... The backgrounds and visors are drying after being painted with black spray paint?!

More views of the lights and 2 out of the 3 General Signals electronic bells.

9

10

11

Compare with picture 1 and 4 facing North.

The median signal is all ready to go.
The cantilevers are still on the ground, waiting to go up.

As seen in picture 11, the lights are made by Fabricated Metals.

12

13

The lone signal on the left means that there will be a side road to bypass the traffic light here at the intersection.

Once again, rear gate lights are being used instead of putting them on the cantilever masts.

A Safetran logo on one of the boxes.

An overview of the crossing.

A bagged new traffic light with a no turn on red restriction.
One of the four GS electronic bells here.

This is one set of two.
Compare this with picture 1...
Witch Hazel Rd. visible from the new crossing. Soon this sight will vanish.

20

21

12"x24" ball L.E.Ds are standard fare here.
A wide view of the closed crossing.

You can see WCH L.E.D. gate lights on the gates.

Pictures 14-21 were taken on October 13, 2007.

24

The northbound cantilever.

The northbound mast signal on the median.
A view looking up at the southbound cantilever which has one fewer pair of lights than the northbound cantilever.

25

26

27

Facing west. The highway on the right is Oregon State Highway 8.
Facing east. Close by is the defunct Witch Hazel crossing.
A closeup of the southbound cantilever.

28

29

A wide crossing view from the north, looking south.
The signal for the dedicated right turn lane ramp.

Behind the signal in picture 29 is a NO TURN ON RED sign. This crossing does not have a light-up NO RIGHT TURN sign like 170th Ave. does in Beaverton, OR.

Pictures 22-29 were taken on November 4, 2007. The crossing opened on October 30, 2007 replacing the Witch Hazel Rd. crossing.

30

31

32

The signals start up. Right now the bells are silent.

The bells are ringing now; notice the distant traffic signals are green but the close set are red.
The gates are down and all traffic signals in this direction are red.

33

34

35

The train crosses.

36

37

38

Last car...

And the gates rise with the bells silent.
An eastbound look at where Witch Hazel used to be. As you can tell there is no trace of the crossing.

39

The new relay case complete with the brand new DOT number.

Pictures 30-39 were taken November 17, 2007.
