Just like traditional FRA "policies", this crossing was converted from an underpass to a crossing sometime in the mid 1980s, but the FRA hasn't updated their records. Also, the FRA mistakenly says the crossing is owned by NJ Transit.

The signals are all 12"x24" Safetran incandescent lights on 1990s style Safetran cantilevers.

A very old relay case.

A look at the cantilever lights above the road.

Very weird setup here. Both gates have pedestrian gates, and a crossbuck facing the wrong way. Those crossbucks need to go. The bell shown in picture 4 is a Safetran mechanical bell.

More views of the signals including a view of what appears to be a WCH mechanical bell in picture 9.

On September 4, 2008, the crossings were caught in action, as part as Conrail's monthly test. I was told that with only running one train out here per week (the setup seems to be a bit excessive for only 1 train a week), that the signals are more prone to malfunctions than usual.

A view of the lights lit up.

Within the same minute, testing is done, and the signals are back in wait.
