This crossing is at the Rutherford train station. The rail line is the border between Rutherford & East Rutherford and is the next crossing east of Central Ave. |

The crossing has two Safetran incandescent signals with a total of 2 Safetran Hybrids that quit ringing when the gates fully lower. |

Pictures 1-12 were taken on May 5, 2007.
On September 23, 2007, these pictures were taken, because on September 17, 2007, the crossing had an accident that caused 2 fatalities, and destroyed one of the signals. You can see its replacement here. The Safetran lights are brand new, but the Hybrid was probably too destroyed to return to service, so a WCH mechanical bell now takes over. |

A cement marking so that people won't get hit on the head when the pedestrian gate lowers. |
A rear look at the new signal. |
You can see where the new signal base is, and how far the old signal was dragged on the Sept. 17 accident. |
