12/25/2002 12:52 |
My expected trip to Tucson fell through as did my other few attempts of new locations. One new Massachusetts section should come soon though. One new state may be added in a few months, but I'm not giving out much information at this time because it will probably fall through like all the previous attempts at new stuff, one hint though is the train traffic in this state is very heavy, but that's all I'm giving at this time. |
12/18/2002 14:48 |
In addition to the 20 pictures I added to Flagstaff on December 14th, I added 8 more when I was at Williams also on December 13th. I also recorded one video at Williams, but I'm not posting those pictures. If you'd like to see the video, get the Arizona Signals 2002 Super Video CD for $10.00. This brings Arizona to 497 and the total to 862. |
12/15/2002 17:33 |
The Arizona Signals 2002 Super Video CD is now available! Because of the extra footage I got at Park Rd. a few days ago, this will be a 2 CD set! The CDs are just $10.00! There are 13 videos on the 2 CDs. Supplies are limited! Just kidding! |
12/14/2002 12:23 |
My last time up to Williams, Exit 178, and Flagstaff went out with a bang. Exit 178 now has a street name called Park Road. Park Road is the center of attention this time. Go the Flagstaff section under Arizona to find the updates. This update brings Arizona to a whopping 489 pictures, bringing the overall count to 854. |
12/11/2002 13:53 |
Two last Massachusetts for a little while. The next update will come in a few days from Williams, Exit 178 and Flagstaff. Because this will be my last update for the year, the Arizona Signals 2002 CD will be available sometime next week. Massachusetts is now up to 62, and overall to 834. |
12/10/2002 9:27 |
Got 6 new Massachusetts pictures. 5 pictures are in a new section. That brings Massachusetts count to 60, and overall to 832. There is some news of construction in Whittman, AZ on the U.S. 60 page as well. |
12/9/2002 9:20 |
I gave the homepage a much needed face lift. In my opinion, the old look was taking up too much room. I also got 5 new pictures of Westford, Massachusetts. The Massachusetts count is now up to 54, while the overall count is now 826. |
12/8/2002 15:45 |
I added a new "plug" onto all my pages that have multiple links, like the left half of the home page. When you hover your mouse pointer over an image, like the "What's New" graphic, a dialog box will tell you more information. It's in the Arizona, California, and Massachusetts sections. Check it out. |
12/7/2002 10:15 |
Morgan Quitno sources says that Compton, CA is the 7th WORST place to live in the U.S! From what I saw on TV, I believe it. I still wonder why nothing can be done to get rid of over 20+ gangs over there. Click here for more details. Based on this information, I thinking of never returning over there in fear of dying. |
12/6/2002 20:15 |
Added logos to the Massachusetts page. I removed the Computer training due to lack of people wanting training. I also posted a possibilty that I'm going to Tucson in early-mid January. |
11/14/2002 15:22 |
Quite a number of updates today. 1) Updated Who Am I section to add more details. I have now changed it now to where people under 14 really shouldn't look at it. 2) Changed the font for the headers, and the buttons on the left side of the home page. 3) Most locations now have the railroad logo next to the street name. Some have 2 different companies running through the same crossing. Massacusetts, Nevada, Florida, and New Hampsire will come later on. Railroads include UP, BNSF, Metrolink, Grand Canyon Railroad, and Verde Canyon Railroad. 4) Added 4 new pictures to Beaver St. in Flagstaff. My total is now up to 821. 5) Removed the old railroadsignals.net from the Links page after over 10 months of inactivity. 6) Made some slight changes to the "HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH RAILROAD SIGNALS" page. 7) I got a tip on what a stop sign does on the Westwood, MA page. 8) Updated the S.O.S. page to include pictures of Paulden, AZ. 9) Added another piece of information to Carson, CA Page 1. 10) Added some cross-references between Carson 3, and Picture 27 on the Misc. Section. I also added some small details to the Misc. Section. |
10/31/2002 18:15 |
The mysterious section will never arise due to complications from the other party. There will be no new sections coming in the near future. This is why I kept the section a secret, just in case things didn't pan out. There's no new railroad news to mention and I don't see any new stuff upcoming soon. I may plan a Wickenburg update later on, but I haven't made any new plans as of yet. |
10/21/2002 12:00 |
I might be adding a new location to my website in the near future, but I don't know if it will happen. I'm keeping the new addition a secret until it happens. Don't email me on what it is, because I won't tell you. |
9/29/2002 14:15 |
Added 8 more pictures to California from the RFD-TV show. My total count in California is 200. Total overall is 817. |
9/26/2002 20:00 |
Added 31 new pictures today from Arizona. Some updated California pictures from RFD TV will come in a few days. |
9/22/2002 17:04 |
So far today, I've received 8 emails. Seven of them are almost blank emails with zip files attached with little or no text messages. I downloaded 2 of them, and they are viruses. According to the Virus Information Center, my virus is a worm virus, and it's #3 of all dangerous viruses out there. The worm name is WORM_KLEZ.H. This virus changes file extensions, and lots more dangerous stuff. Click here to go to the main page, and click the #3 virus for details. Be very careful if you open emails with ZIP files with no text in the body. |
9/18/2002 17:31 |
I will be updating the site with new pictures since the last update 2 months ago. I watched the RFD TV show on Pacific Harbor trains and saw a few familiar sites in California. Look for updates to the Misc. Section coming in a few days. Look for the total picture count to go over 800. I will be making a return trip to Williams either on Saturday or Sunday to get more signals and a look at the steam locomotives that I saw go through Wickenburg in 1989. Look for another 25-50 pictures from this group next week. |
9/16/2002 16:50 |
A tv show is coming up on RFD TV that shows lots of signals on the Pacific Harbor line in California. Some of my California signals are shown in this 60-minute program. Times to catch this show are as follows: 9/16: 12AM-1AM eastern, 9PM-10PM pacific. 9/17: 6AM-7AM eastern, 3AM-4AM pacific, 9AM-10AM eastern, 6AM-7AM pacific. 9/21: 9AM-10AM eastern, 6AM-7AM pacific. 9/22: 3PM-4PM eastern, 12PM-1PM pacific. This is on channel 9409 if you have DISH Network, or channel 379 if you have Direct TV. |
9/13/2002 13:50 |
With the threat of thunderstorms gone, monsoon mode has ended. Still no updates on anything at this time. |
9/5/2002 6:57 |
I got a new link sent to me overnight. It's a continuation of the Metro Link rail system. The new Gold Line will soon run from L.A. to Pasadena and South Pasadena. There will be 29 crossings there, however they aren't operational yet. Check the Links section for the link. |
9/2/2002 17:57 |
The hiatus is over. I really expected it to go on longer, but things turned out better than expected. I added more stuff to the My Profile section. Look for a Williams update coming up in a maximum of 3 weeks. Thunderstorms are still forecasted around here, so Monsoon mode will stick around a little longer. |
8/26/2002 15:30 |
I mentioned I was going to do this before, but now I'm sure of it. I'm abandoning the site for a little while. Too many family disputes have caused so much tension that it's impossible for me to travel anywhere. My promise to California was just a empty promise as usual. I'd like to keep updating the site and get over 1000 pictures, but I can't travel anywhere anymore. I don't know when I'll update the site again, but when I do, I'll add the details in the 2001-NOW section. |
8/21/2002 14:02 |
A few updates I've been needing to update for the past few days. I added and updated the Links section. I also added some text updates to the Massachusetts section. |
8/13/2002 15:44 |
Second update for the day. The dates of updates under the header were a combined 133kb because of pictures I put inside the boxes to make them look more appealing. Now, I have to go back to the boring old 2-color boxes again. These only take up a combined 7kb of bandwidth. I can't have luxuries anymore due to puny 19.8 MB bandwidth daily. |
8/13/2002 8:00 |
I went to upload some newer material last night around 7 PM PST, and I found the website had gone over it's bandwidth for the 5th time straight! PLEASE SLOW DOWN! I"ll try to get a second server to divide up the usage. My VHS-C camcorder tape of all my Arizona Signals 2002 was accidentally dunked into water last night. The tape was mutilated by the VCR, and is completely unrecoverable. That means Williams, Exit 178, and the updated Enterprise videos are now history except on SVCD. The quality isn't as good as VHS-C, but it's better than nothing. I will not remove the videos from the AZ Signals 2002 set, but because the videos aren't in complete form, the price is going to go from $7.50 to $10.00. After I get Office XP, I'm going to pursue a DVD-recorder drive ASAP. Let's face it: Analog tape is no longer dependable. If a DVD fell into water, nothing would've happened to it. |
8/11/2002 17:57 |
A few days ago, someone emailed me and told me that a few pictures were in the wrong place in the Massachusetts section. I checked it over, and they were wrong. They have been placed in their own seperate locations. Also added a techincal detail with my train CDs in the Video section of the site. |
8/7/2002 20:09 |
For the Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey, and Chino Valley visitors to this site, I've started a computer training course. For railroad news, I'm considering putting the website on hiatus. The next scheduled update is California in about 2-3 months. Life nowadays is too busy to go 30 miles to Skull Valley anymore (Especially with no money.) If the website does get placed on hiatus, I'll announce when updates will come again. The Monsoon pictures have been dropped due to the lack of thunderstorms around my area. Normally during the season, about 9 inches of rain fall, so far about 1 inch has fallen with no good news for the future ahead. |
7/23/2002 9:37 |
Added 36 new pictures of California. Lots of them aren't that good, but it's a good sneak preview of what will come when I go to California in October or November. That now makes my total count up to 778! The bandwidth limit has gone over the limit the past two days. I appreciate the traffic, but don't go overboard. Here's what the bandwidth amounts to: Hourly: 12 MB, Daily: 19.8 MB, Monthly: 600 MB The hourly and monthly ones are okay, but the daily one sucks big time. I need about 50 per day, but since topcities won't give it to me, I'll have to keep it at the low reading. It isn't my responsibility if the site goes over, I'm trying my best with what NO money I have to run this thing. |
7/21/2002 9:50 |
Updated the status on California. Lots of crossings still exist! Even one on the Alameda Corridor. Pictures will come by July 23rd. |
7/19/2002 15:30 |
I updated the 87-93 section again with more detailed information including a police report on 2 out of the 3 incidents. |
7/17/2002 20:16 |
The recent kidnappings of young girls resparked a near kidnapping of myself in 1988. I updated the 87-93 and 2001-NOW pages of the "My Profile" section. |
7/15/2002 15:30 |
Split Carson Street into 2 sections to relieve confusion on what's closed and what isn't. Also moved one picture onto the new Carson Street section. |
7/11/2002 22:57 |
Uploaded all Arizona pics to this server. That only makes one server for all 742 pictures. I only have a 600 MB bandwidth limit on this account monthly (20 MB daily), so don't go overboard on the pictures, or everybody suffers including me. |
7/11/2002 12:40 |
Arizona signals is down due to Angelfire cutting my free space of 50 MB down to 20 MB. Arizona is 32 MB, so I need to relocate them. When that happens, I'll cancel the Angelfire account. |
7/10/2002 18:45 |
Huge update today! To prepare for California, I went out for trains and got 60 pictures! My new total is now 742! Check the "Master List" on where to go. |
7/9/2002 6:49 |
Monsoon Mode begins today and will last for approximately 10 weeks. Added one new picture to the Sepulveda section in California. This now brings my total up to 682. |
7/6/2002 14:55 |
Added 32 new pictures to the Kirkland and Skull Valley sections to the website. Those 32 new pictures now bring the total amount of pictures up to 681! Flagstaff coming 7/13/2002. A new section (Clarkdale) may come in the next few days before Flagstaff. Monsoon mode begins in 2 days. I also decided to finally kill the dead railroad webring. |
7/1/2002 19:30 |
July marks the 3rd year this website has been on the web! Monsoon mode according to the National Weather Service, should begin around July 8th. When the time comes, I'll add a new section for monsoon pictures. Despite the monsoons, I have lots of updates coming this month. Here's a rundown... 7/9: Flagstaff: Focusing on the Enterprise crossing that's been under construction since 6/17. 7/10: Williams, Ash Fork, Drake, and Paulden (NEW). 7/11: Skull Valley, Kirkland, Congress, and Aguila (NEW). May not go depending on weather. Late July: Possibly California updates (I hope). |
6/25/2002 14:21 |
I may be returning to California this fall for train pictures and video. My grandfather is going on July 9th and may get some pictures, but he says he'll take me in the Fall. Whether he will or not is beyond me, but I'm going for it. Also added the HTML code for weather to the California page. In addition, I added a Master List page for just how many pictures are in each section. |
6/21/2002 15:47 |
Added a HTML code on the bottom of the home page that shows what weather is happening at my area. With the monsoons coming in about 2 weeks, this may prove to be interesting. |
6/20/2002 13:00 |
My temporary job ended at 11 AM PST on June 18th due to lack of work. I'll may be making a Flagstaff trip on Saturday June 22nd. Monsoon mode may be kicking early perhaps starting June 26th. When thunderstorms are forecasted, Monsoon mode will begin. Monsoon mode means, there will be some limiting updates because of thunderstorms occuring almost every day. This will run through Mid-September. Four new links have also been added to the LINKS page. Also added a page on how I take crossing signal pictures. |
6/17/2002 19:50 |
Added two links to my LINKS page. One site has so many crossing signals, that I'll have to make a chart telling where each signal is located. Train update planned either for June 29-30, or July 6-7 depending on weather conditions. |
6/9/2002 15:00 |
My last update before I go back to work. I found 4 new links on my own today, and I fixed a bad link someone submitted to me a few days ago. Also after 3 months of trying to sell Windows 2000, I've given up trying. I'll keep it and I'll dual boot with it and Windows 98, ME and XP on a 160 GB hard drive I'll buy after my temporary job is finished. |
6/7/2002 20:30 |
Added 2 new links thanks to my train CD promotion. They are located in the Links section at the bottom. Made a new rule that a website less than 15 (group less than 25) pictures must have a minimum of 5 to count as a point. I've noticed that the railroad webring hasn't been working properly for a while. I don't know if it was discontinued, or if the location of the webring has changed. I wasn't notified of any change to the webring. If I don't get a reply on what happened to the webring by July 1, 2002, I'm removing the webring code off the homepage. By the way, if you try to get to their homepage, it's dead. I'm puzzled on this one. I'm also working temporary again at the same place I did in late March-mid April. This will last another 3 weeks again. I'll be unavailable to answer email or train links until 5PM pacific time. After I get through, expect a Williams/Flagstaff update. Plus, it's confirmed that I'm heading to Phoenix and Tucson for lots of train photos in the Fall of 2002, or the Winter of 2003. Stay tuned. |
6/5/2002 16:45 |
Started a promotion for free signal CDs. I hope to get a lot of results from this. |
5/30/2002 13:15 |
Reached 5000 hits since I last kept count 713 days ago. |
5/28/2002 14:40 |
Made a correction on the new link added on 5/26. Changed the Video page to say that the only payment I'll take from now on is a money order for your protection. Cash could get lost, and I wouldn't want anybody to pay double for the CDs, and a check for a possible insufficient funds, and I wouldn't want anybody to pay a $25.00 fee for a bounced check. |
5/26/2002 11:30 |
Added a new small signal link. Took the TV signals CD off the Video page in fear of legal actions. I may send the video at no charge for some kind of package. I'm not sure at this time. |
5/18/2002 9:00 |
I added some non-railroad related links on the Non-Railroad Links section. I also brought back the Railroad Video in hopes of better sales. Some new material will also start showing up in the Yahoo! Group section soon. Updated the New Hampshire page to include the town. |
5/15/2002 8:40 |
My hard drive had a problem with Windows XP, so I reinstalled back to 98, and dual-booted with XP, but I forgot to back up the website! After a few hours, I got everything back. The California, Australia and Massachusetts sections are changed to thumbnails due to bandwidth problems. This update was intended for May 1, but I lost my data. The HO signals page has been renamed Scale signals with a pair of HO signals made by me. Also added a New Hampshire page for a museum that has a old wigwag on display. |
4/22/2002 22:15 |
More new stuff today. Williams is now open to 2 crossings. Flagstaff has one new crossing called Exit 178, Beaver has a small update, The Flagstaff News section is updated, and Enterprise has important updates. |
4/20/2002 12:45 |
More new stuff today. Added about 35 new pictures to the Flagstaff section. The S.O.S. page is back up with new material. |
4/14/2002 17:00 |
New stuff today. Florida is now up. My Profile is updated with my pictures, and Perkinsville in Arizona is now up. More stuff is coming from Flagstaff and Massachusetts later this month or in early May. |
4/13/2002 16:20 |
All of the pictures on the Angelfire server are back up. The S.O.S section has been removed. The serious message from 4/10 has been moved to the side menu. Lots more pictures to come. |
4/13/2002 9:00 |
Part of the site will go down for reconstruction. Believe me, it's worth it. Also something new from Flagstaff will show up when the site is finished. |
4/10/2002 20:07 |
I have a serious update. Click on the logo on the homepage to read about it. Second, I have removed the video page due to no sales. |
4/1/2002 20:11 |
The Yahoo! Group is now open for business. Please don't abuse the group with any unnecessary material that does not relate to any kind of railroad material. This group is a non-moderated, free joining group. Help yourselves. |
3/31/2002 21:03 |
Update #1: In the near future, I'm going to create a Yahoo! Group and maybe it will help generate some new material for the website. Update #2: I am in the process of changing only the Arizona signals to a new format. The new format will show thumbnails and when clicked on, an 800x600 image appears. This will save on bandwidth usage, although I don't have a bandwidth problem. The Yahoo! Group will be created first before I redo the Arizona signals section. I'll post when the Group is up. Update #3: I did not make my Williams trip on 3/30. I didn't have enough time outside of work to get anything done, I may plan on 4/6 for an update, but it's still up in the air for now. |
3/23/2002 22:33 |
I am planning on going to Williams next Saturday, however another factor has now come up that may prevent the trip. Starting Monday, I have a temporary job for the first time in my life. I'll be working 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week. This might not happen, but I may be too tired to go to Williams on 3/30. On Friday night, I'll post whether I'll go or not. |
3/22/2002 18:23 |
Lots of updates for today. 1) Saturday's train trip is to Flagstaff, however this time will be different. The weather is not going to cooperative for video. I will take pictures through a 35 mm camera and maybe any video that may work. As of this morning, Flagstaff's high temperature will be 51 with 20-30 MPH winds. Next Saturday will be different if the weather is more cooperative. I'll return to Flagstaff with the fancy technology with the tripod and extra stuff. 2) Up to now, I have been unemployed. On Monday 3/25, all that will change. For the first time in my life, I've got a part time job sorting mail through Reader's Digest. For those of you who wonder if your chances of winning by not ordering stay the same, I'll be able to tell you in a few weeks. Needless to say that any updates to the site will be limited throughout the next 1-3 weeks, especially if these pictures will be taken with a 35 mm camera. Also in the next 1-3 weeks, watch for pictures of yours truly appear on the site, as I will have money to get them developed. In addition to the extra money, I'll be able to go other places to film train signals, like Williams, plus, I can get new accessories for my HO board. Keep tuned throughout the early part of April for some new material. Also, when I am employed, a message at the top of the screen will tell you that I have a job going on, so in the slightest case if anyone wants to buy any CDs of my train signals, I won't be able to check your order until the nighttime hours MST. My hours will be posted on the website for my unavailable times to communicate with you railroad fans. Whew. What an update. |
3/20/2002 21:57 |
Learned that I will be making two trips to Northern Arizona for trains before March is done with. This Friday, (3/23) I am either going to Flagstaff or Williams. 8:1 odds are for Flagstaff. On March 30, I am planning on making a second trip to Flagstaff, unless I can get someone to go with me, I may go to Williams instead. Whenever I do go to Flagstaff, I am planning on two new things. 1) Using a tripod for the first time to tape the train signals. 2) Using another camcorder (since mine is not working right) with more advanced features. Stay Tuned. |
3/9/2002 14:32 |
Discontinued the mp3 section of my website due to Geocities' inability to provide FTP access to our "Poor Man" accounts. |
3/7/2002 23:10 |
A pleasing update for once. After a 10 month hiatus on "North Texas Railroad Crossings", the site is coming back. The site is not up now, but when it does, all the old stuff along with new stuff will be featured. The page used to be hosted on Geocities.com like mine did, but now he has a new address located at http://www.railroadcrossings.net/ |
3/5/2002 |
Changed the look of the website a little. Also, I'll be including the time in my updates (just on the homepage) Arizona has some weird time zones, during the winter, we are matched with Mountain time, in the summer, we are Pacific. I don't know why, but that's the way it is. |
3/4/2002 |
My website is all moved to another server, however you can access the site either by it's old address (http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Cove/2512) or its new address (http://rxrsignals.topcities.com) Also put on new backgrounds, including the one on this page. |
3/3/2002 |
Moved all of my stuff onto the new server. All that remains is the homepage. I think the FTP has already been cut off. |
3/1/2002 |
Another update. Yahoo Geocities is disabling its FTP service to its free customers (including me) on April 2, 2002. Due to this inconvience, I'll be forced to move my website to another domain. The http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Cove/2512 domain will link you to my new domain on March 9, 2002. Also, my MP3s are also on Yahoo Geocities, and they will become history on March 9 as well. |
2/28/2002 |
For some reason, I always seem to be updating the site. This is the 8th time this month. A new railroad site has been found. |
2/26/2002 |
Some unrelated railroad news this time. I'm selling my copy of Windows 2000 to anyone willing to buy. The OS has no box and has just a CD and instruction manuals. Price is $100.00. |
2/19/2002 |
California Signals have been renamed to Classic California Signals due to the Alameda Corridor Project. I am planning not to update that section anymore since there is nothing left over there. "A message" link has been discontinued. I don't need help finding crossing signals over in California anymore. "Before & After" section merged with Carson & Dominguez streets. |
2/16/2002 |
Some sickening news to report today. While talking to my aunt today, I've learned that most of the crossings along the Alameda Corridor have changed or have been closed. For 98% of people, this is a welcome change. To the other 2% (including me) I am angry to see this. I am literally depressed and in a funk upon seeing so many closures and changes. Due to these changes, I may not go back to Carson after all. I guess the saying is true..."You can never go home again." |
2/10/2002 |
Moved some more signals over to my new server due to Geocities STILL cutting off my website. I have moved all but one section of the California section over, and also moved the Australia signals and HO Signal pictures to the new server. This should balance out Geocities now. Look in the next day or 2 to have the MP3s moved to another new server with UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH! |
2/8/2002 |
Changed servers to a more reliable server. Also created a form for my Railroad Crossing CDs. |
2/3/2002 |
Added a video section. This section is for anybody wanting to buy CDs of my railroad videos throughout the years. So far I'm offering 5 CDs with a 6th one to come at the end of the year. Also updated the "My Profile section with new information. No pictures as of yet. |
2/1/2002 |
Created the "My Profile" section although there are no pictures of me at this time. Some will be on soon though. Be careful when reading, I made the "My Profile" story like an autobiography. There are some not-so-good times in these stories. I would rate my story as a PG rating. |

Went to Wickenburg yesterday. Got lots of new stuff including a new crossing from a town 8 miles South of Wickenburg. "My Profile" pictures still haven't been taken in for developing yet. I plan to go to Williams in the Spring when the temperatures warm a little. I will return to Wickenburg on 2/9 for festivities and I will make another update then. |

Posted some new photos from my recent Flagstaff trip from 12/28. I have had pictures taken of me for my "My Profile" section, but they need to be developed first. I also updated the "Future" page to include more signals in the Spring to Summer of this year. |
