Note: This crossing only gets used when it needs to, and it isn't very often.

Note: In picture 16, that yellow "rope" is not rope. It's the wires for the gate lights.

Facing West.
WCH gate LED lights.
Another view of the crossing.

The reason for the huge upgrade is that Schuetz Rd. is going to be a much busier road than it is now. I think CMRR prepared for the heavier traffic that's to come later.

Note: The latest FRA record from 2006 shows crossbucks during that time and ownership by UP. UP actually gave up ownership in 1999.

Pictures 1-19 were taken on March 29, 2008.

On June 6, 2009, the crossing shows that the turned side lights seen in pictures 13 and 14 are turned the right way now.

On October 21, 2009, TrainmanKight comes back here to find something very unexpected.... See if you can find it...

In picture 36 and 37, the gray area with the gate stripes is aluminum, while the white, marbled area to the left is fiberglass.

Pictures 21-42 were taken October 21, 2009.

Note: TrainmanKight did call the railroad to report the problem, and they said that they need to order some parts before the gate can be repaired. From the look of the damage, the gate mechanism needs a bit of work...

43

On October 22, 2009, TrainmanKight comes back here again to see that the gate still hasn't been repaired yet.

Taken December 9, 2009, we find the gate has been fixed! It was fixed sometime between December 5, and December 9. On December 5, the gate was still broken off. As you can see, the same gate and gate LED lights were reused. In picture 47, you can see a scrape on the gate just to the left part of the crossbuck where the "C" is. That's where the impact was that caused the gate to break off in the first place.

The gate is a little dirty from being down on the ground for a few weeks.
For some odd reason, the tracks are actually getting rusty! This spur line may have gone dormant!
The old WCH gate mechanism was likely damaged too much that this new WCH gate mechanism replaced it. That's why there was a delay in getting the gate fixed.

As you can see, everything is fixed, and is working normally once again.
