These 8" cantilevers get a lot of action. Take a look at both pictures 1 and 2. Something's slightly different between the 2 signals (the sidelights on picture 1 is not what I'm talking about). Picture 3 is facing West.

Picture 4 is facing East. Pictures 5 and 6 show what I'm talking about. A General Signals electronic bell is found right on the top of the gate associated with picture 1.

That thing has to be extremely loud for anyone standing next to it! The bell on picture 2 is a WCH mechanical bell.

There have been minor changes at this crossing. The mechanical bell has now been replaced with another General Signals electronic bell. But that's not the main reason for this update...

The gate mechanism was opened up. Kind of interesting to see what's inside. Take a look at the gate lights shown on the picture of picture 17.

There is a counter seen in this picture. I don't know exactly, but it could tell how many times the gate has lowered since it was put into service. Over 57,700 times is a lot for this gate. These pictures were taken August, 2005.
