Interesting fact: according to the FRA, this crossing has been closed since August 14, 1981! There is a logical explanation for this. This crossing was part of the former CGW line between Oelwein and Dubuque, Iowa, which was abandoned in 1981.

Another visit reveals some changes. The biggest change was the removal of a track from the crossing.

The old cast iron mast seen in pictures 8 and 9 was swapped out with another mast. The WRRS cast iron lights and crossbuck were reused. The old mast didn't go far. Click here to see where it went.

The side track no longer crosses the road. The road was recently reconstructed. The side track was likely removed at that time.

A couple changes were made to the Westbound signal as well. The "2-Tracks" sign was removed and the signal itself was moved closer to the remaining active track.
The WRRS bell remains in place.

The broken lens seen in picture 15 was replaced.
No changes were made to the relay cabinet.
