This old Illinois Central depot sits just North of the CN line along IA 150/5th Ave. NE. The depot has been moved away from the tracks and turned to face East (it used to face South). On display are an Illinois Central 0-8-0 steam switcher and wide vision caboose, a speeder and a WRRS Autoflag wigwag signal, complete with an inverted cat-eye crossbuck and a US&S teardrop bell. To see how the depot looked in its original location, click here and here.

Buchanan County Tourism currently operates out of the depot.

A couple of emblems. One noting IC's centennial in 1951, the other a system map at that time.

A few night shots. The marbles on the crossbuck appear to be doing their job perfectly! After looking at pictures 17 and 34, I didn't notice any reflective paint on the banner. The bare metal must was reflective enough to have the light of my camera's flash bounce off it.

Sometime during 2009, this signal appeared on the property. The crossbuck is mounted incorrectly. The crossbuck is rotated counter-clockwise 90º and the "Crossing" panel is upside-down. There's also a lot of silver paint overspray.

Although it's very difficult to discern the lettering, this small cabinet is from Bryant Zinc.
