This crossing is a very weird one. First off, this crossing has 8" lights, and is gateless! Second is the lack of bells at this crossing! |

This signal has a mix of 12"x20" WCH and 12"x24" Safetran lights. |
Between the two signals, there are a total of 5 GRS LEX-C plastic lights. The left light seen in picture 5 is a WRRS 8" light. The signs are a bit faded, and really should be replaced.
Note the "L&W" and "Griswold" brackets in picture 7. |

An overview of the crossing. |
A look at the left WRRS 8" light. |
The signals are in action here. Note how the truck in picture 11 blows right through the crossing. |

I've been told that due to the lack of gates and bells, this crossing is very dangerous and should be upgraded to gates at the very least according to chicagorailfan@yahoo.com.
In my opinion, people just need to watch what they're doing. Police should be out here ticketing people like this.
Many of the accidents listed below were mostly careless women not watching what they were doing.

A few action shots of the crossing in action.
I guess not too many people pay attention to the "NO STOPPING ON RAILROAD TRACKS" signs seen in pictures 1 and 12, considering the high amount of accidents here, and many of them have occurred here within the last 10 years. |
