On April 14, 2001, I ventured out to parts unknown to get some more signals. Seligman is about 25 miles west of Ash Fork on Interstate 40. There's only 1 signalized crossing in Seligman, I couldn't find anymore.

This 2-Track crossing is just west of the downtown area of Seligman. |

More Views. Note that on Picture 6 that the 20" background looks a little chipped. |

The bells are louder here than the signals around Skull Valley and Kirkland. |

One minute after the first train left, another one came. Later on, a third train came about 2 minutes after this one passed, but was unrecorded. Another interesting note is that the third train was running toward Seligman when I was coming into town. But when I got to the crossing, it disappeared. It reappeared later 2 minutes after this train passed here. The third train was heading west toward Kingman. |

A short train went through here, and I didn't have my camcorder ready in time. Picture 11 was taken one second before the train crossed. Pictures 11-13 were taken September 28, 2003. |

A return trip on Sunday September 24, 2006 didn't show much change. The activated scene in picture 14 was taken shortly after I got here. It was at 10:31 AM MST/PDT.
Pictures 15-17 were taken on the South side of the crossing facing North. Very little has changed. |
|||
In pictures 18 and 21, I'm facing East. The train that crossed in picture 14 was stopped just shortly after the crossing. However, another light is coming in the distance. |
|||
Facing West. |
More inactive shots fo the signals. |
Looking East again. |
|
Facing South. |
The signals start up! The 12"x20" lights have been changed to L.E.D! |
||
The train eventually crosses, going kind of slowly. |
|||
The train continues crossing. Note that the train is still stopped in pictures 36 and 37. |
|||
Take a good look at picture 38. The little lights on the sides of the 12"x20" lights are white L.E.D! This is the first time I've ever seen that before! Pictures 39-41 are now on the North side of the crossing facing South. |
|||
These signals are all Safetran. Everything except the bells is Safetran. The bells are still General Signals type 1.
Note that the left background in picture 45 still has its chipped paint. |
|||
The gate motors are Safetran too. The bracket in picture 47 is also Safetran.
Picture 49 shows the warning sign. The ATSF for some reason always mounted these signs with two posts. I always hated that. |
|||
The warning sign is wooden! |
The cattle guard sign was made by the Safeway Sign Company, and has a Yavapai County sticker on it. |
||
Picture 55 shows the relay case, including the name of the road, and the DOT number.
Pictures 39-56 were mostly taken out of boredom. The time period between pictures 38 to 56 was 10 minutes. I found out later that all trains were stopped for track work further West, and train traffic was stopped for about 60-90 minutes. |
