Picture 5 shows the crossing with one missing detail. The crossbuck is missing. Upon further investigation, pictures 8 & 9 show what happened to the crossbuck. I really wanted to take it with me, but my grandfather didn't feel it was right. Yeah right, like it's really doing its job down there... These are also owned by the Verde Canyon Railroad. This crossing and the one below it is in Drake.
Pictures 5-10 were taken sometime in 2001. |

Looks like the crossing has been upgraded with newer crossbucks, but look closer in picture #12. This is facing South. |

Facing North this time. |
See if you can tell the difference if you couldn't tell in picture #12. |
Another close-up looking south. |

I tried looking for the fallen crossbuck when I was here, but I wasn't able to find it. The post that used to hold it in picture #9 was still there though, but without a crossbuck. If you take a look at the stop signs, they have lots of holes in them. I guess this area is used heavily in hunting. I did see a jackrabbit about a 1/4 mile away from here. Pictures 11-18 were taken Sunday May 11, 2003.
