WCH Clear LED's have been around since the mid 1990's and has not been very popular with any railroads. WCH's catalog suggest that these are called Aurora LED's, not to be confused with Alstom-Aurora. These kinds of lights use a clear lens making it much more brighter than a typical Red LED. They do have flashing sidelights. Most kinds of these lights come in 12" form. This kind of light also comes in 8" form, but is hard to find. Maine has a good amount of 8" Clear LED's. Some digital camcorders may not show these lights correctly. Some, but not all clear LED models, but not all will constantly fade in and out throughout the activation. The 8" clear LED is model number 970-801. The 12" clear LED is model number 985-801. This particular kind of LED is very popular with a high number of signalfans. |
