Aurora Gate LED Lights were invented in 2002. They have been popular on BNSF & UP intallations. This kind of Gate Light use 18 LED's on each side of the gate light and is covered in a clear plastic housing. These LEDs run on 8.5 to 12 volts A.C. or D.C, and operates in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C (-40°F to +158°F), and draw 3.5 watts of power if running on 10 volts. They also claim to have 100,000 hours of usage per LED light. Aurora gate LEDs come in two models, the "Standard GAL 100", and the "Premimum GAL 200". The Premimum GAL 200 comes with more tools to setup the lights in just 10 minutes, rather than the Standard GAL 100 lights. The Standard GAL 100 lights retail for $259.00 for 3 LED gate arm lights, and the Premium GAL 200 lights retail for $395.00 for 3 LED gate arm lights, although another catalog on Alstom's website retails them for $359.00. |
