US&S electronic bells were first available around 2003 or so, however they were appearing to be selling electronic bells from General Signals. They came out with their own product around 2005 or so, and started slowly popping up at crossings in California starting in 2007 on some new SJVR crossings.

The bell looks somewhat similar to the General Signals electronic bell, except the bell is shorter in height, and the emitting area is a perfect circle, compared to an oval on the General Signals bell.

Not much has been heard of right now, but a clip provided by rrxingrick@aol.com appears to sound quite similar to a General Signals Type 2 tone.

There are two models of this electronic bell: Model OB-1, which is a 360° broadcast, and Model UB-1, which only broadcasts 180°, best for residential areas.

The bell is 14 3/8" high, and 6 3/4" in diameter. The audible range is adjustable from 75 to 105 decibles. The bell operates between 9 to 15 volts D.C. and can fit on a 4" or 5" mast.

A General Signals clone, seen on Union Switch & Signals website between 2003 and 2005.
