This bell was first seen in July 2007, and cannot be found on Safetran's site anywhere.

Westinghouse Rail Systems Australia shows this bell available for purchase on their site.

This bell is starting to gain grounds in some areas, popping up mostly in the Eastern United States, although they can be found in the West, especially in California.

The term "Type 3" was created my Smjh1979 as a way to distinquish this bell from the other kinds of electronic bells that Safetran has to offer.

The tone output is very similar if not the same tone as the Safetran type 2 electronic bell, (NOT VERIFIED) however there are some very minor differences that have been found out.

In Eastern states, the tone is very similar to the Safetran type 2 tones, although the tones can have various ranges similar to that of General Signals type 1 and 2 tones.

In the Western states for some odd reason, the bell is tuned to a very high pitched tone, making it very highly likely that the tone can be adjusted like the General Signals electronic bell. (NOT VERIFIED)

A price sheet acquired by one of my regulars shows that Safetran does offer the type 3 electronic bell in 4 models...

Model 8000-80301-0001 is a loud "fast tone" (possibly high pitched?) electronic bell.

Model 8000-80301-0002 is a loud "slow tone" (possibly GS type 1 or 2 clone?) electronic bell.

Model 8000-80301-0003 is a soft "fast tone" (possibly high pitched?) electronic bell.

Model 8000-80301-0004 is a soft "slow tone" (possibly GS type 1 or 2 clone?) electronic bell.

All four bells listed above retail for $509.00 as of 2009.
